Strengthening Food Security for all of New Jersey
The New Jersey Food Fund is a public-private partnership uniting philanthropy and state government to ensure every New Jersey resident has access to fresh, healthy food.
A collective approach to food security
We serve as a grantmaker, organizer, & connector to encourage and support long-term, systems-level solutions to food insecurity in our state.
Grantmaking
Our 11 funders pool their money to award grants to nonprofits and coalitions across New Jersey. We invest in collaboration and innovation through our Harvest the Future program, and we enhance organizations' fundraising capacity through our Grant Navigator program.
Connecting the dots
We address food security in the context of related issues—housing, health, transportation, and more. By amplifying grantee voices, contributing to statewide policy conversations, and fostering cross-sector collaboration, we help shape a more dignified and resilient food security ecosystem.
“What excites me about this effort is the long view: a commitment to learning, listening, and working across sectors to build something stronger than any one organization could do alone.”
